Money Mysteries
You.don't always need a special worksheet to practice math skills. Read Money Tree Mysteries to the children, stopping occasionally so they can solve each mystery. The children can use pieces of recycled paper to draw their coins on as they figured out if the detective has enough money to buy the various items. "Does the detective have enough money? Thumbs up if "yes" and thumbs down if "no." It's a fun and simple way to practice money skills!

This year my student teacher, Mrs. Wood, used our document camera to share Money Tree Mysteries with our class. She gave each child their own "money tree" using a tree that she created and paper "coins." The children counted the coins on their tree and then wrote "math stories" about what they would buy with their money!
